I am currently on my way out of town for a wedding and have found myself waiting on a delayed aircraft. As I look around me, people are typing on various mobile devices…laptops, mobile phones and of course, me on my tablet. As we are currently dealing with a two hour delay, it’s hard to say that any of us are particularly thrilled.
However, when I looked to my left, I noticed two litle girls (undoubtedly sisters) chasing feathers around their parents, shrieking with delight. They aren’t disturbing anyone, so I have to smile. Tons of technology surrounds them, and they find entertainment in feathers!
And to their parents, I have to say: Bravo.
These parents have resisted the pull of having the latest ipads for their kids.
More importantly, these parents have fostered a childhood where their little ones know how to play and imagine.
And for that, I have to say they are doing the job right.
